Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) Antigen Test Card (10 Tests)

Easy-to-use, in-house test kit, providing rapid, accurate results, to aid in the identification of asymptomatic/mildly symptomatic coronavirus positive cats, when controlling feline infectious peritonitis in multi-cat settings.  This test can also be used to aid in the diagnosis of GI disease due to FCoV in cats.

Test type: Immunochromatographic assay

Test target: Feline coronavirus (feline enteric pathotype – FCoV, sometimes also called FECV)

Appropriate sample type: Fresh faeces

Sensitivity (quantifies a test’s ability to identify true positives): 97.50%

Specificity (quantifies a test’s ability to identify true negatives): 96.67%

Results available: 5-10 minutes*

Clinical notes:

• Positive results should be further confirmed with PCR testing and/or other appropriate diagnostic methods.
• Clinical signs should always be considered alongside test results when making a diagnosis.
• FCoV positive cats may only shed FCoV intermittently, so a single negative test result should be interpreted carefully
• Test may give a false positive result in animals that have received a live attenuated vaccination containing the test target within the 10 days prior to samples being collected.
• Test may give a false positive result in animals treated with monoclonal antibodies specific to the test target.
